Floral Roundup - 10 Floral-Inspired Crafts - By Stella Crafts

Happy Wednesday, dolls! How is everyone doing today? I have a new roundup for you that is sure to get you in the mood for Spring. On a side note, Wednesday Roundup is going to be a regular weekly thing here on Stella Crafts from now on, so if you like roundups be sure to check back every week!

As you can see from the title, this week’s collection is about all things floral. It’s been warming up quickly here in the Brazos Valley – the sun is shining, the flowers are starting to bloom, and the trees are beautifully green once again.

While you know from my last roundup that I LOVE me some rainy weather, it’s been nice to have the sun back this week and I thought that some pretty floral crafts were just the ticket to kick start a lively and beautiful Spring. Let’s get started!

1) DIY Floral LetterThe Mrs & Momma Bird

Let me just start with this fun fact: Paige over at The Mrs & Momma Bird spent less than $8 on this project. The letter itself cost less than $5 and the frame was $3. And, in addition to being easy on the wallet and absolutely gorgeous, it is super simple to make. I’ll definitely be making this for myself at some point. I can’t decide whether I want to do it with a frame to hang inside, or without a frame to make a monogram wreath for my door. Either way I can’t wait to try it!

2) DIY Tissue Paper Flower Photo WallMargot Madison Creative

Margot made this for her 40th birthday celebration and I think it’s a fabulous idea. While she doesn’t have a tutorial on how to make the pom poms, she does provide this link to your choice of tutorials and she explains how she set up the wall. This would be perfect for a Spring birthday party, baby shower, wedding/wedding shower, women’s retreat…really anything!

3) Fresh Flower Pendant Light DIYPaper & Stitch

I can’t get over how cool this is. It’s a great way to bring the freshness of Spring into your your house and it’s so outside the box. If creating this with fresh flowers isn’t practical for you, you could always do it with all wax flowers for a more permanent fixture.

4) DIY Floral SunglassesHonestly WTF

Oh, these sunglasses. They’re inspired by these Dolce & Gabbana shades, but are far less expensive to make than the almost $500 price tag on the D&G ones. I love how fun and feminine they are, adding the perfect touch to a breezy Spring outfit. They’re also a great way to add some pizzazz to plain jeans and t-shirt.

5) Easter DIY Clay OrnamentsMahalolena

There are so many possibilities with these ornaments. You could do these for Easter tags, but you could also make some for Mother’s Day or a birthday. You could do some with the stamped letters, but then do some without and cover them completely with the floral tissue paper. They can be used as gift tags, ornaments, or even on a garland or mobile. Have fun with them and see what you can come up with!

6) DIY Wallpaper DresserChelsey Life and Design

Is it time to update that old dresser that’s been sitting in storage for the longest time that you just KNOW you’ll find a use for one of these days? Well, this tutorial is for you. It’s so simple and the results are beautiful. This is the dresser equivalent of wearing funky socks with a sophisticated suit. From the outside it looks like any other dresser, but when you open the drawers – BAM! A touch of whimsy. Love it.

7) Coconut Rose Lip BalmHer Campus

Melt the ingredients together, pour into container, let firm. Done. So quick and easy, and it sounds luxurious, too. Plus, I’m down for just about anything with the word “coconut” in the title. I bet this smells amazing!

8) DIY Floral Fabric Pots Better Decorating Bible

These pots are too cute and I love the fabric they used. I can just picture how lovely these would look on a sunny windowsill. While they’re not recommended for outdoor use, in the comments section BDB suggests using clear spray paint to make them more durable for the elements if you wish to keep them outside.

9) DIY Floral HeadbandPink Pistachio

How darling is this headband?! This project will only take you about 5-10 minutes from start to finish, and it’s a perfect girly accessory. One commenter said “You look like a beautiful Summer Fairy,” and I couldn’t agree more. I want to make one for every girly-girl I know!

10) DIY Tea SoapThirsty For Tea

I am obsessing over these soaps, you guys! These are a definite must on my list of projects to try. The base is a ready-made olive oil soap that you can get from most craft stores, so don’t be afraid to try it! This is a great way to make soap without having to actually “make” the soap. There are so many soap bases out there – Goats Milk, Shea Butter, Oatmeal, and Olive Oil are just a few – so try this project with any soap base you’d like!

That concludes the roundup for this week, folks! Let me know what you think, and remember to e-mail me pictures if you do any of these projects so I can post them and show off your work!

Lots of love,
Katie
